Description

Korea’s First Museum Composed Entirely of Digital Content—Without Physical Artifacts

The Traditional Cultural Contents Museum is Korea’s first museum to be filled exclusively with digital content—so-called "digital artifacts"—without any physical relics. Using CT, a next-generation growth engine, traditional Korean culture is recreated with a modern sensibility. Visitors can see, feel, and experience the inner values, lifestyles, and philosophies of the past—elements that are often missing from conventional museum displays, written descriptions, and illustrations.

Through RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) cards, the museum offers personalized services, realizing a tailored exhibition, tour, and guidance system. Going beyond the passive viewing of physical objects, the museum invites visitors to truly engage with Korea’s traditional culture and spirit. As a place filled with stories—both inherited and newly created—it presents a new standard for digital museum exhibitions. Inside, visitors can explore a variety of interactive programs, including:
- "Click: Sounds of the Past," where traditional folk songs, funeral chants, and the warm dialect of Andong can be heard
- "Virtual Artifact Experience," offering digital recreations of artifacts from Dosan Seowon, Taesa Temple, and Hahoe Village
- "Junior Story Talk Talk," which tells local legends, myths, and folktales of the Andong region
- "Jangwon-gupje Game," a modernized version of traditional board games like Seunggyungdo, allowing families to enjoy educational content from Thousand Character Classic, Dongmong Seonseup, So Hak, and the Four Books and Three Classics
- "Artifact Woodblock Hall," where 130 types of woodblock prints-based on patterns extracted from Dosan Seowon’s Jangpangak and relics from Taesamyo-are offered in digital form
- "Hahoe Mask Dance UCC," an interactive experience where visitors can learn the Hahoe Mask Dance and create their own digital content The 4D Theater adds an immersive dimension with screenings such as:
- "Battle of Gochang," depicting the historical clash between Wang Geon and Gyeon Hwon during the Later Three Kingdoms period
- "Mommy Katuri," based on the selfless maternal love from the beloved story by the late author Kwon Jeong-saeng
- "Mituri," a poignant tale of enduring love between a couple from 450 years agoThese engaging experiences offer meaningful insight into the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Korean people and the unique traditions of Andong.
