Hwacheon Seowon enshrines Gyeomam Ryu Unryong, elder brother of Seo-ae Ryu Seongryong and a disciple of Yi Hwang. Known for his deep understanding of Confucian texts, Ryu was respected as a righteous official. After serving as the magistrate of Indong, he was appointed governor of Punggi during the Imjin War, where he led efforts to suppress local bandits. His collected writings are published in the Gyeomamjip (Gyeomam Garland).
