Mukgyeseowon is a Confucian academy established to honor and commemorate Bobaekdang Kim Gyehaeng and Eunggye Ok Go, both respected civil officials during the Joseon Dynasty. The academy was dismantled during the nationwide abolition of seowon under Heungseon Daewongun’s reform but was later restored. The site is known for its picturesque natural surroundings, especially the red apricot blossoms that bloom beautifully in spring. The Eupcheongru Pavilion further enhances the elegance of the academy.
